This time I am representing Linguapax Asia, https://www.linguapax-asia.org/en/, a branch of Linguapax International (International NGO affiliated with UNESCO, based in Barcelona). My research interests are childhood bilingualism, multilingualism in Japan, and intercultural communication. I raised two bilingual children at home in Japan and taught both Japanese and English as a language teacher for over 20 years. My current researches are 1) intermarriage families of Japanese/Asian combination in Asia and 2) language revitalisation in the community of an endangered language in Milyako Island, Okinawa prefecture. Tandigaa tandi ("Thank you" in Miyakoan).

Transforming Resources Into Webinars and Videos

In the spring semester of 2020, the author planned the specific theme, “Listening to the Voices from Ryukyus” project, to promote endangered languages in a sociolinguistic course. Outside classroom learning resources on campus were fully prepared and scheduled: photo exhibition at ICU museum, music concert at the Chapel, and colloquium with specialists in time. However, the author had to transform these into webinars and Youtube videos for online classes.
