Supporting teachers with limited technological skills, encouraging students to participate who have anxiety or social withdrawal and generally motivating the connections and communication we take for granted, are at the forefront of online learning management skills. The quarantine situation will pass eventually, however the skills and techniques developed and discussed in this forum will continue to be essential elements of the hybrid English classroom and lifelong language learning, well into the future.

Andrew is a coordinator of the English Program at Aoyama Gakuin University. His research interests include Intercultural Communication, Materials Design and Media Literacy. He has a PhD in Applied Linguistics and teaches classes on Communication, Comparative Culture and Media Studies. He is from Vancouver, Canada and enjoys cycling, nature and all adventures big and small.

Natsuki Suzuki is from Aichi and studies Early Childhood English Education (MA) at Aoyama Gakuin University. She also teaches Elementary Schoolchildren and researches storytelling to teach, inspire and make children smile. Her interests include music and magic.

Took her MA in Literature at Tsuda College where she studied for a PhD., specializing in English poetry. She has been an adjunct lecturer at Aoyama Gakuin University. Her research interests include teaching listening, literature, and translation.

Joseph Dias co-coordinates the Integrated English Program in the English Department of Aoyama Gakuin University, also teaching courses on intercultural communication and food culture, as well as professional development courses for graduate students. He was the program chair of JALT’s Lifelong Language Learning SIG for 10 years. His research interests include computer-assisted language learning and autonomy in language learning. A longtime juggler, snorkeling and underwater photography are his latest passions.

Fraser is an adjunct lecturer at four universities in Tokyo. His interests include EFL written corrective feedback and media literacy studies. His weekends are spent performing children’s magic shows as The Amazing Fraser.
